Learning Power at Work
Learning Our Way Forward Together……..
By 2020, it is estimated that there will be four times more digital data in bytes than grains of sand exist on the entire planet (Judah Phillips 2013) and trillions of sensors by 2022 (Stanford 2013). This powerful deluge of data already has a major impact on how, where, when we generate value through our work. The sorts of skills and personal qualities which employers look for have changed dramatically – what matters now are skill such as sense-making, innovation, social and emotional intelligence, collaboration, cross-cultural competences and design thinking.
We need to be able to utilise our learning power to solve real world, complex problems navigating shared learning journeys and understanding, identifying and serving wider stakeholder purposes.
Becoming aware of our own learning power and developing it collaboratively in the workplace is going to be a key to success, both for individuals and the organisations for which they work.
